The latest figures from Land Registry on 15th August show that average house prices across the UK have risen by 4.9% in the year to June 2017.
There are local variations. Of all four home nations, England saw the steepest rise in house prices by 5.2%. On an English regional basis, the East of England saw the highest rise in house prices to 7.2%.
