On 12th January 2017 the Equity Release Council (ERC) reported that as predicted Equity Release lending surpassed its highest level at over £2billion for the first time.
The ERC reported that there had been an increase in the number of consumers wanting to unlock the value in their homes to fund their retirement or to help their loved ones financial situation. Lending was 34% higher than 2015.
